As a restoration company, we are first responders following significant fire damage to a property. 2 Alarm fires are considered fires in which the firemen have had to puncture a hole in the roof to help the home breathe, as it has filled with soot and is still on fire or smoldering. They call this venting the structure. Electricity, gas and water must be cut to the property to limit further catastrophe. As first responders we determine the need to protect the property. If it is a major fire, we board up and protect the structure until the fire investigator has completed his report. Determining the extent of the damage is the next step. Here at SERVPRO we have a 3D camera that allows us to capture and document the extent of damage that has occurred.
